Pulang Daga Beach, Camarines Norte, Philippines

Pulang Daga Beach, which is situated in Paracale is a two hour bus ride from Daet and is an ideal place for picnics and swimming. The beach got it's name “Pulang Daga” from it's unique clay-like soil and red sand characteristic.

Everything is virtually untouched, undepleted and unpolluted in Pulang Daga. The crystal clear waters with it's panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean is perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming. During low tide, the waters are shallow enough for visitors to walk from reef to reef.

There are no known commercial resorts in the area but there are villas available for rent.

Calaguas Islands
The Calaguas Group of Islands off the Pacific coast of Camarines Norte boasts of powdery white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters comparable to the best beaches in the world. Unexplored and unspoiled, the islands are inhabited by very hospitable and kind fisher folks. There are no commercial accommodations, no running water and no toilet in the islands. Visitors usually arrive in groups thru an organized tour and they set up tents on the beach. But according to the local government of Daet, there are already plans of turning these islands into a major tourist destination. One that will rival Boracay in the Visayas. Bagasbas Beach
About 3 km from Daet, Bagasbas Beach is a fine, gray sand beach that is said to be the best in the area, and is very popular with the locals. The waves are really good for surfing specially around the month of August. There is no commercial beach resort in the area that I know of, but there are plenty of restaurants and surf shops near the beach. Hotels are also available and are located in Vinzons Ave.

The Start of Something New

Philippine Map
This blog is already in its 2nd year of existence and I think it's about time I begin tending to it more.

So you can expect more detailed posts about the Philippine's best beaches, complete with email addresses, phone numbers and website if available.

The Philippines is composed of more than 7,000 islands and boast of the best beaches. Some have already garnered international recognition like Boracay and Amanpulo, while others are yet to be discovered even by the Filipinos themselves.

Just by looking at the map here will already give you an idea of what I mean. My previous posts have barely touched the magnificence of these beaches and I will really make up for it in the days to come. For starters, I finally got rid of the generic blogger template which almost every other blogger uses and got myself a nice new one relevant to our blog's topic.

So I hope you will join me as I learn more of these beaches and create a useful documentation which will benefit information seekers for years to come.
