Puting Buhangin Beach, Quezon, Philippines

Puting Buhangin Beach
One of the famous beaches dotting along the coastal towns of the province. Puting Buhangin, which literally means "white sand" beach, is located at Pagbilao Grande, Pagbilao, Quezon. A pure white sand beach, with crystal-clear and calm waters. The white sand beach stretches 70 meters long and 10 meters wide. A small cave is found at one end of the beach. It is a favorite site of swimmers in Pagbilao during the summer months.

Update (12-04-07):
As far as I know, the island doesn't have a resort erected there. However, there are resorts in Sariaya that can take you.

Marina Azul Beach Resort is one of the newest beach resorts in the stretch of beaches along Tayabas Bay in Sariaya, Quezon. There are also trips to the white sand area of Pagbilao Grande Island as part of an island hopping adventure they organize for their overnight and daytour guests.

IVE BEEN THERE! STAYED, SWIMMED & SUNBATHED!
theres actually a new exclusive club being built there which my family has a share of called Pueblo De La Playa. we stayed there in a beautiful chalet- this club has a mexican theme, very colorful and fun. the beach is private so its never crowded. facilities are state of the art.

I know this place since birth. My tiya (my mother's older sister) and her family live there while my other relatives reside at the other barangay (which is the birthplace of my mother).
It is called Brgy. Puting Buhangin but its territory belongs to the municipality of Padre Burgos and not Pagbilao, Quezon.
It will take you more or less 4-5 hours to arrive in this place. Depending on the traffic and the short routes (short cuts) you have taken..
It is not so clean nowadays to compare before year 1998. They put cement to act as a dike and breakwater along the coastlines and it covered the beautiful beach. Stupid brgy captain!
The backyard of my tiya's house was covered with runway of cement.
You can see oil, human feces floating aside from the leaves, branches of fallen coconuts everywhere on the other side of the dike. I stopped swimming on that place upon seeing these stuff on the water.
You can see only a sliver of that 'once' famous beach line.
It was once-used as a location shoot for movies such as bomba films starring Elizabeth Oropesa and the original Pedro Penduko starring Ramon Zamora back in the 70s.
The residents are not that educated about having a business of resorts there. I used to enjoy swimming anywhere on that place for free for several years until they destroyed a part of it.
I still have pictures taken there and with memories of that ala-Blue Lagoon panorama.
Sanitation and Proper food handling are not available on that place. Board and Lodging too!
Only houses of residents stood all over the place. Sorry, no vacancy...except if you will buy a lot there or an island perhaps. The picture seen here (in this page) is not taken on that place. This is misleading, however; the description of the place (caption) about a cave is true.
There is somewhat cleaner place by the name of Kuwebang Lampas, but its not yet develop into a 'real resort'located several miles eastern side of the island.
On the other hand, on the coast
side of the town of Pagbilao, not the Pagbilao Grande Island, but the main town, resorts are sprouting. Aside from Pueblo Por La Playa, there are a few more beaches under develop and just wait and see in the future.
I don't have any idea with this Marina Azul Beach Resort having trips to the island as part of an island hopping adventure.
For clarity, Marina Azul Beach Resort is a different place from Puting Buhangin.
I had asked my relatives working for the local government and in that geothermal plant even, coz my former college classmate told me she had gone to the island in a cruise ship. There is no cruise ship in that place from Dalahican going there. Fishing boats are present. You can rent a boat to view the side of the island from Pagbilao's Pantalan or harbor but you never stay or sleep because there are no hotels available on the island. Except if someone invited you to stay in their place or house.

the description is pertaining to "Puting Buhangin or Lukang Beach" and Kwebang Lampas. Its in the southern part of Pagbilao Grande island in Pagbilao, Quezon. Its accessible by boat or by land. The photo thou is kinda misleading... its not of the said beach.

thank you for informing me. photo has been changed appropriately.
