puerto azul hotel is not novotel anymore; you might want to update your info because the last time i heard, closed daw ang hotel and only the cottages remain open.

Still ok for a beach day in Puerto Azul?

The owners which is the Panlilio family noted cronies of the Marcos era are basically at the end of the ropes.. Debts, foreclosures have hounded the businesses such as Puerto Azul, Grand boulevard hotel. They even once had an airline called Grand Airways.. It had a grand launch and a grand closure too.

six_sigma said...

IT was once a Panlilio paradise.. now reduced to nothing.. I wonder where the Panlilios are.. I used to watch the helicopter pick them up from their house fronting the beach..

Too bad this was really a nice getaway that was the closest to Manila.

Visited resort to play golf last week. Course has not been maintained for over a year and is almost unplayable. Clubhouse in poor condition. Caddies said that no workers had been paid in past year. I would not recommend it

Bren said...

Another instance of "failure to maintain" that kills a good business. What a shame, because it is happening with the Boracay beaches, too!!! Better to go to Phuket, Thailand.

Please put more picture and cottage rate per night.

We are actually having second thoughts now because of these comments but still we would to give it a try. We are a planning for a group party (overnight) in Puerto Azul. This will be some time in November this year. Can someone give us any info? current details on Puerto Azul, rates, others.

Puerto Azul Jetski said...

Its actually so sad to see Puerto Azul in its current state. There is so much potential to bring life back into the place but poor management has taken over. We actually still go there a lot to go jetskiing. Please try and visit Puerto and maybe we can bring back the islands treasure. Also do visit us at Edwerks Jetski Tuning in the Puerto Azul pier.

puerto azul was once one of the prime beach resorts back then, it may appear far from what it looks rigth now but i have good memories there. It all depends on the person who will see puerto in its current state. I personally enjoy the environment-the uncrowded feeling-where you can enjoy the sights and facilities in the club house without any hassle.
We frequented vista de loro from 2007 up to 2008. First i felt spooky when i saw those abandoned buildings that we passed by and the vacant units in vista de loro but it was okay because we went there by groups-not less than 15 always-and we stay there at least 3 days. i really enjoy going there kase hindi crowded and i can really savor what nature has to offer-the over-looking of the beach, especially sunset, seen in our unit in vista, the VACANT PARKING SPACE where we sometimes have a drinking spree, and the uncrowded clubhouse. There is just some people who doesnt like being crowded...

Anonymous said...

how about the rates?..

Anonymous said...

I always visit Puerto Azul for the past 3 years, and it was really relaxing because its not crowded at all, I can ride a JetSki without worrying of somebody to hit, before I usually go to Subic just to rent a JetSki but when I heared of Puerto Azul and they have also JetSki I tried it once, now I go there everytime I need to unwind, and its near Manila.

puerto azul used to be a nice haunt. we used to be members there. unfortunately due to neglect the place has worn don. the only nice place to hang out is the pool area where you can still find good chow.

Is this true nagsara na ang puerto azul?

2006 yata nang pumunta ako doon with my family. For a place near manila ang ganda ng lugar.

sana may Pinoy businessman dito na suportahan ang lugar.

di kayo magsisi kasi worth it.

The place now is populated by foreigners mostly Koreans. It proves that the resort is reviving. I have 2 clients selling a 120sqm unit and a 90sqm at Vista de Loro but both are now having a 2nd thought of retaining it. The resort turned alive last Sunday. The unit owners assn. needs to takeover, management wise, their respective clusters for them to regulate their community, s.a. a reasonable monthly assn dues and better collection efficiency. The place needs a better management, ads and services. NO OFFENSE- galylea_realty@yahoo.com.ph

The banks and other government financial institution which has huge money exposure in the resort and condominium projects should take over completely and sell this once luxurious place to foreign investors.

i wanted to have my wedding in a secluded beach location. i dont care if puerto azul isn't as popular as it used to be so long as it has the quiet spot, a place where we can have the reception and a place for our families to stay overnight. it would be a very private and small wedding.

i've seen you edwin replying to their inquiries so i reckon you're the person to contact? people of about 30-40 only. you cater? or can we bring them to the location? please let me know. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was a guest at Peurto Azul and was extremely disappointed. The beach house was extremely run down, and there were peep holes. Trash was washing up on the beach as i was swimming. It took one day to get a refrigerator and the food for dinner was very expensive but only came with four bony pieces of chicken and rice. It cost was 1000 pesos. there is no menu or prices. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They charged me 4000 pesos per night. Michael Gadomski, gadomski4@hotmail.com

i am currently searching for a beach resort that my family can stay at during our vacation to the philippines. my mom, who grew up there, recommended puerto azul beach resort. i've tried searching for your site, to get an email address and to view the resort itself. i am looking for a cottage that is self-catering that can accomodate 10 people: 6 adults, 3 children and a toddler age 4. if i could get feedback as soon as possible, i will really appreciate it as i have to finalise my vacation plans.

We hosted a state dinner for Suharto, hosted the Philippine open and had tons of vips invited by Imelda and Mr. m-----; my favorite being Sammy Davis, Jr.
Sam Sneed, Gary Player, Chi Chi Rodrigez, Payne Stewart and John Cook were all very nice to meet.

Most people does not seem to note that ever since this place became unpopular to those who used to come here for the world class amenities that it used to have(in the 70's & mid of the 90's) the growth of the forest & it's inhabitants has flourished.More colorful birds can be seen almost every hour of the day & this is where I have seen for the first time a wild rooster, civet cats, flying hawks, monkeys & some wild endangered creatures that I cannot name.Yet it is just an hour & a half away from Metro Manila, passing thru the new 'cavitex' road via the coastal road.
This forest should be preserved by everyone because it act's as the lungs of Metro Manila & nearby provinces.I am happy that the owners, the Panlilio's, are protecting this forests from outsiders who might create some damage to the preservation of this place.Never mind if there exists some dilapidated buildings in the area but what is primordial is the preservation of nature & all the living creatures in it.
I am a unit owner at Vista De Loro & this is what i can say.
If the price of loosing modernity is gaining a living forest, then I would sweetly welcome the latter.
