Cape Bolinao Beach, Pangasinan, Philippines

Bolinao BeachThe white beach in Barangay Patar has a fresh water source nearby believed to be an outlet of an underground river. Here, the surf is wilder as it hits the boulders along the shore. The landmark is the old lighthouse that stands on a hill. The tourism infrastructure is not well developed but the locals are very helpful to tourists. As many of its inhabitants are fishermen, Bolinao is also a paradise for seafood gourmets.

Update (12-01-07):
Bolinao is a little town north-west of Lucap, which hasn't been overrun by tourists yet, at the far north end of the province of Pangasinan.

Dutch Beach Resort in Patar offers pleasantly furnished small cottages with refrigerators, situated in a garden directly on the beach. A restaurant is also available.

Try the caves before heading to the Patar Beach...waters are cool and very refreshing.

Go for the dive or just enjoy snorkling at the Silaqui Island waters...Or before doing so, hit Bolinao Falls first for a fresh water splash...

We stayed at Punta Riviera Resort Bolinao, Pangasinan. Wow its different, as they say in their poster - way upmarket from the other resorts in the area. New, clean and very cool! White sand beach as well - check it out at www.puntarivieraresort.com

Silaqui Island is just outside Bolinao Bay, one of the small islands before you get to the open sea. It's really nice - clear water, fine sand. Hopefully the UP Marine Science Institute still has their Giant Clam sanctuary there. You can also try going to the light house, tide pools (a looongg ride via unpaved roads, but the place has its own raw beauty), and the waterfalls - which you can reach by going through Patar beach (fine sand, nice sunset views).

hi,

besides Puerto del Sol you'll find two beach resorts, namely: Villa Carolina, a smaller, but neat beach resort, and Punta riviera which is bigger, but more expensive.

We highly recommend TREASURES OF BOLINAO and SCL Garden Paradise . The first one is quite expensive but worth its value ! SCL on the other hand is for those who are budget conscious but staff are so warm and helpful :-)

My husband and I just spent a memorable anniversary in Bolinao and we highly recommend Villa Carolina. It's not as fancy as the other places but the service was excellent. Carol and her daughter, Jo-anne, made sure we enjoyed every bit of our 2 night stay. This resort is also perfect for those on a budget but want good accomodations and personalized treatment. The staff is incredibly hospitable. They will even take you around to see Bolinao's points of interests for free! Our honest guide/cook/butler, Allan, provided us with outstanding service. Make sure you look for him when you visit Villa Carolina. We are already planning our next visit to the resort with our kids this March. If you want value for money, this is the place to be. You get to use the bangka, snorkeling equipment, pool table, etc. at no extra cost. Hope you enjoy your visit to Bolinao as much as we did.

I recommend SCL Garden Paradise. It's not the most high class resort around but the resort is well-kept. The staffs are very accommodating. The beach is beautiful and very nice to swim at especially during low tide. You might wanna wear aqua shoes or slippers though as the sand in the shore is a bit rocky. Sunset was beautiful. It's near the enchanted cave (about a 15-minute walk). The food was great. Best of all, it's very affordable.

You may try this: http://bolinaopenthouseforrent.webs.com/

It's close to town center of Bolinao, and a good alternative to the resorts in Patar.

for those looking for affordable accomodation around Patar Beach, ping this number Beeboy 09204526157.

In our case, I initially thought about Rock Garden Resort which had the least expensive accomodation. Unfortunately, when we got there, all their cost friendly rooms are fully booked. We ended up knocking each available resort. Fortunately, we got an absolutely perfect rate from this very kind and accomodating resort….to the extent that I promised him i’ll post his number on the blogs to payback the discounts.

…prices are quite negotiable…i mean it.

—by the way, if ever you’ll call him, kindly inform him you got the number from a post by Ian on the internet (that guy who promised you to post your number); Just so he knows i didn’t break my promise cause I told him to give me the same rate when I come back, which i’ll surely do.

they can arrange everything else for you at reasonable rates including transport, food, utensils, and you can request to try their coco harvests.

May maganda po na beach/camp area sa Tambobong, Pangasinan. Hindi pa siya commercialized kaya sobra ganda ng beach at mababait ang mga tao. There is a new resort there, just starting. Its called PANTALAN BEACH RESORT in Tambobong. Bawal ang maingay na karaoke, cemented parking for 10 cars(50/night), kubo rental at only 1.5k per night and maintenance fees at only 50/head for use of cr and bath kung gusto niyo mag tent lang sa beach!!! Pero very very basic facilities lang. They even offer set meals for groups. Or if you want them to cook merong minimal fees lang. The kubos are built right on the pantalan (port) so GREAT view of the ocean talaga. Maganda yung kubo and can fit 8 to 10 yata. Meron din built in tables made of bamboo lang. Rustic. Its owned by the Bobises so just call nanay Precy bobis or Deo Bobis at SUN#09227154685 or SUN#09236685401 or SMART#09075183062 for reservations and arrangements. I understand they can even arrange transpo to/from manila na rin now. Pls call or text for rates nalang. Thanks.
